 The fleet parade, which traditionally marks the start of the season, is on 19 April this year. One of the first highlights in Potsdam's events calendar, this is a good opportunity to take a stroll in the new pleasure garden beside the harbour and to enjoy a first boat trip on the Havel river and lakes. This three-hour boat procession sails through the Potsdam area as far as Caputh then past the Hohenzollern palaces and under the Glienicke Bridge onto Lake Jungfernsee. Before the Potsdam Fleet ships berth at 2 pm, there is plenty to enjoy. The "El Puerto" harbour restaurant serves culinary delicacies from southern Europe. As every year, the parade of ships taking the salute is an impressive sight.
