German Tourist Guide Certificate

Quality, Knowledge, Experience! Tourist guides with the BVGD Certificate help visitors enjoy their stay and understand the life and culture of the places visited.

To guarantee a high standard in tourist guiding throughout Germany the German Tourist Guide Association BVGD has developed training guidelines leading to the certificate of the association.

The BVGD-Certificate requires
• a training course following the BVGD-guidelines
• a minimum of three years experience in tourist guiding
• proof of continuing professional development
• two additional in-depth seminars with final examinations

You may find tourist guides with the BVGD-Certificate in many places in Germany, their numbers growing continuously.
